As Clinca fails to make it to the next round at the Slingshot Agorize 2023 startup pitching competition.

As heartbreaking as it is, we'd like to thank them for even open that door for international startups. We've heard that it's Singapore has strict visa rules and the person who said that, made got a visa through programmes. That was the possible immediate way to Singapore and to the world, but mostly a way to raise capital for Clinca to survive the first year and also to have a marketing budget.

I started applying when I first found out, but I didn't complete the application because I didn't want to get into programmes. Trancery went through the same process and it's still closed, but it also made some funds on another business development programme.

Only after a few months (around 3 months) since Clinca opened that's when I realised that the South African market doesn't engage, so why not try a more advanced market by applying for Slingshot Agorize! With zero sales and zero subscriptions, except for when someone created fake accounts, in the first six months has tough.

Before Clinca had even opened, it had issues, including it's domains being bought and sold, including the clinca.com domain. The only respectable domain or the type that won't make it seem like it's a scam was the co.uk domain.

Paid for social media ads, doing door to door campaign (upto 700 car owners reached in two months). With people always asking for cell phone details in order to book, even though that's not you book a session, it's like that's how they want it to be but they would never even reach out. Most people not knowing what's a mobile car wash, even though there are mobile car washes in the country. Being unwilling to pay online, but by paying online it's to avoid people being scammed. You can pay the wrong person, and also to avoid pranks. Being told that a tyre shine damages the tyres, so they use a shoe polish. But will always be grateful for every person who took their time and listened or engaged and visited the website.

Those are some of the things discovered since Clinca opened. With all that, I'm grateful to those few people who stood by it and if it closes next year, atleast I can buy a shoe polish, a dishwashing liquid, a bucket, and continue with this car wash business.
