ELegend has recreated the iconic Audi Sport Quattro for the electric age. The EL1 triple bonnet vents and swollen wheel arches replicate an original with limited 30 units for production.

Audi Sport Quattro

The Audi Quattro is a road and rally car, first shown at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show on 3 March with production ending in 1991. A 5-speed manual transmission with three engines 2.1 L SOHC I5, 2.2 L SOHC I5 and a 2.2 L DOHC 20V I5. The original engine was the 2,144 cc (2.1 L), longitudinally-mounted inline-5-cylinder 10 valve SOHC, with a turbocharger and intercooler. It generated 147 kW (200 PS; 197 hp) and torque of 285 N⋅m (210 lbf⋅ft) at 3,500 rpm, propelling the Quattro from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of over 220 km/h (137 mph). The Quattro was partially hand-built on a dedicated line. Production totaled 11,452 units from 1980 to 1991, and through this 11 year production there were no major changes in the visual design of the car.

The upgrade comes with a carbon fiber monocoque, aluminum subframes and double wishbone suspension front and rear. Weighs 1790kg with a dual electric motor setup rated at 805bhp. The EL1 from 0-100Kph in just 2.8sec. The powertrain will be tuned for a top speed of 300kph.

The motors draw power from an 80kWh T-shaped battery pack mounted in the central tunnel and spanning behind the front seats. The EL1 claims 400 kilometers of range (WLTP), but expect that to deplete rapidly when using its performance to the full, the EL1 does offer 200kW DC charging capability to quickly replenish the cells.

The EL1 comes with bluetooth connectivity, navigation, a parking camera and electric windows. Exposed carbon and high-end material finishes will feature throughout the cabin, and as ever, a wide scope of customisation possibilities are expected given the EL1’s extremely limited production run. Each will be hand built for an asking price of €890,000 (R18 188 930.) excluding taxes.
