Verstappen started in 11th position and got to 6th by the 33th lap, with this race being the first in which he’s been overtaken all season. Verstappen attacked Gasly and passed him on the outside to take sixth place with five to go and Verstappen came in fifth behind Leclerc in the end. Carlos Sainz ended Max Verstappen's winning streak with Norris second and Hamilton finishing third.

Hamilton hung behind Lando Norris, waiting to strike for a podium finish and still had to keep Leclerc at bay, but Leclerc getting into position 3 in the last third of the race after Mercedes pit both their drivers to put on brand new mediums!. Mercedes drivers with fresh tyres, and Russell set a new fastest lap in 1:36 on 47th lap.

Sainz was separated from his teammate, as Russell and Hamilton passed Leclerc with Hamilton setting a fastest lap. Norris cutting Sainz leading time and Russell getting onto Norris - 7 laps to go.

Sainz led, being reduced by Russell to go under a second on the 36th lap by 0.9 to 0.7sec on lap 40. Sainz leads by 1.5sec from Norris down from 1.8sec, as though Sainz can be caught. Leclerc complains that his right rear tyre has gone and Sainz moans that his front tyres are finished - laps to go.

Norris and Russell as they go into lap 60, Russell tries to pass on both sides but Norris finds the DRS to stay just in front. Norris hates Russell, the Mercedes team left it too late. Russell hitting the barriers and out of the race.
