Huawei, which launched its first EV in 2021, recently teased the release of the S7 as well as the Aito M9 (which it's on 20 000 preorders), an electric SUV developed with another Chinese automaker, Seres. Now Huawei with Chery released a Luxeed S7.
Luxeed S7 ``Luxury Speed” electric sedan from Chery and Huawei started pre-sales in China. It's in a market with BYD Han EV, Neta S, Rising F7, and other EV sedans. In this joint project,
Chery it's the manufacturer and Huawei supplies key parts. Luxeed models are made available at Huawei stores in China as sales will begin on November 28.
The joint project starts with a Luxeed S7 electric. It's the first sedan, as Huawei had sold SUVs. Luxeed S7 supports 800V charging and an advanced self-driving system. A car on appearance, can be mistaken as a Tesla roadster 2.0 or car names which we've never heard of, that's if you're not a die hard fan. I started wondering if I posted the Luxeed S7 thinking that it's the mentioned American Car even though the Luxeed S7 it's much cheaper than a Tesla.
When it comes to size, it's compared to Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It comes with thin headlights and an LED strip that joins them, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, retractable door handles and a single taillight unit. If you can drive from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds with an oval-shaped steering wheel, and still not be distracted by your front passenger who has a makeup box set as a second glovebox, then it's yours.
Wait, the S7 caters to female consumers — with a designated cosmetics drawer, mirror for touching up makeup and a place to stash away high heels when they’re ditched in favor of flat shoes for driving — according to Huawei.
It has an air suspension and CDC active damping system for its 25 storage spaces and a trunk of 420 liters, but still you have capabilities of a single electric motor in the rear axle for 292 hp (215 kW). The 4WD version has two e-motors with a combined power output of 496 hp (365 kW), equipped with an LFP pack. The long-range model has an M3P battery from CATL.
A 15-minute charge will yield a driving range of 400 kilometers (249 miles), according to Rainford Yu, he even said while the range comparison had not been tested, it was possible due to the battery which is the thinnest in the industry.
